Basic Installation of Mandriva-Linux- Free or Powerpack-2006:
Very straight forward install with minimal user intervention. At the end of installation the user has the ability to configure all major devices and functions. The only unconfigured device was the display: Choose Intel 915, Flat screen 1024x768, 16 bit.
Upon bootup and signon the user can select from the Menu: System, Configure, Configure Your Computer; to enable WiFi and Network functions, or anything else that needs modification in the system.

Setting up additional features for Mandriva-Linux- Free or Powerpack-2006:
Select from the Menu: System, Configure, Configure Your Computer;  to set up or remove additional features of the system.

Unresolved issues:
Had a major performance problem with 'mhonarc' routine which converts mail to html enmass. Rename the routine by executing:
        mv /usr/bin/mhonarc /usr/bin/mhonarc.orig
in a terminal window to stop the routine from running before opening the Mail function.
