Installing X on a Sharp PC-9340T

This information is based on an "XF86Config" file which was published on the following web site: http://georgetoft.com/linux/sharp/index.shtml (thanks George).

Although this information was intended for a Sharp PC-9020, the key parameters are evidently the same.

These are as follows:

Some of the above information can be obtained by running "Superprobe" but the key information (the Horizontal and Vertical rates) must be entered manually as above.

I ran "XF86Setup" and put in the above information.  The resulting "XF86Config" file is shown below.  Note that generic names were supplied for the "Monitor", "Device" and "Screen" sections (with the exception of the board name).  For each "Display" subsection, a Mode of "800x600" only is specified.
