Installing Fedora Core 5 on Toshiba A105-S4004

Basic Installation of FC5:

Why to use FC5? For me, it was because it worked the best of the distributions I tried on the laptop.
Obtaining FC5: I downloaded the DVD image from the Fedora web site.
Installation of FC5 was just a matter of booting off the DVD, and answering a few questions.

Unresolved issues

No drivers for the Modem.
No drivers for the 5-in-1 bridge Media Adapter.
Computer hangs every five minutes (uh-oh)
No DMA for the DVDRAM drive. (hdparm could not enable it.)
