Modem

The modem, Intel Corp. 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Modem Controller does not work with any standard linux drivers. I tried with the commercial Linuxant HSF driver, and was able to dial and start the connection, but never was able to get the modem to talk to pppd or transfer any data. I tried everything I could think of or which was suggested by the support at Linuxant, to no avail. So I just use my pcmcia modem when traveling.
